Gisella Motta was born in Domodossola on May 16th, 1968. She was fond of photography since her late teens and she has always lived in Stresa, on the Lake Maggiore, where she started her career as a photojournalist for a local magazine. A professional journalist since 1991, she began to collaborate with travel magazines in 1993 such as Bell’Europa, Gente Viaggi, Bell’Italia, Traveller, Tuttoturismo, as well as Meridiani, where she signed her first cover (n. 37-1994) dedicated to Switzerland. The latest one is the one realised for Bell’Italia in March 2005, dedicated to the Borromean islands with an extensive internal report.

Her favourite working environment is represented by the mountains, which are especially suitable for her, also due to her sports skills (skiing, trekking, etc.). She realised picture stories in several European and non-European countries. Major specialized magazines publish her photos.
